Wu-Tang Clan Name Generator
Type your real name and get your Wu-Tang name. Same name in, same alias out, every time.
How the Wu-Tang Name Generator Works
The Wu-Tang name generator turns your real name into a two-word alias with kung fu flavor. Your first name picks the first word, like Silent, Golden or Midnight. Your last name picks the second word, like Swordsman, Dragon or Mastermind. Put them together and you have a Wu name that sounds like it belongs on a 1990s cassette.
The name is worked out from the letters you type, so the result never changes. Type "Michael Smith" today, tomorrow or on your friend's phone and you will always get Crazy Chemist. That is the point: your Wu-Tang name is yours, and your friends can check it.
It takes one click, it is free, and you do not need an account or an app. The name is calculated right in your browser, and the names you type are not saved.

Share Your Wu-Tang Name
Every result comes with a Share button. It copies a link that opens this page with your Wu-Tang name already on a card, so friends see your alias the moment they tap it. Post it in the group chat, drop it in your bio or send it to the friend who always claims the coolest name. When they type their own names, the arguments about who got the best Wu name start. Because the result is fixed, nobody can reroll until they get a better one.
The Original Wu-Tang Name Generator
Wu-Tang name generators have been around since the early 2000s. The original one most people remember launched in 2002 on mess.be, a small fan site of nickname generators, and it is still online. It asked for your full name and returned an alias in the same two-word style, and it spread through forums and later through Facebook.
This page keeps the same idea, a fixed alias from your real name, and adds what the old page did not have: crew mode, a share link with your name on a card, and a layout that works on a phone. If you are looking for the Wu-Tang name generator original experience, the rules are the same: type your name, hit the button, accept your fate.
Wu-Tang Clan Members and Their Names
Wu-Tang Clan formed in Staten Island, New York, and released its debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), in 1993. The nine original members all rapped under aliases:
- RZA
- GZA
- Ol' Dirty Bastard
- Method Man
- Raekwon
- Ghostface Killah
- Inspectah Deck
- U-God
- Masta Killa
Cappadonna joined later as a frequent collaborator and member. The generator never gives you a real member's name; it builds new aliases in the same spirit.
Famous Wu-Tang Names
The most famous Wu-Tang name came from a name generator. Donald Glover has said he typed his name into a Wu-Tang Clan name generator while he was in college and got Childish Gambino. He kept it, and Childish Gambino went on to win Grammy Awards.
That story is why people still search for a Childish Gambino name generator. The site he used was an older generator with its own word list, so this page will give "Donald Glover" a different alias. Try your own name and see if yours is good enough to keep.

Wu-Tang Name Generator FAQ
What is my Wu-Tang name?
Type your first and last name in the box at the top of this page and press Get My Wu-Tang Name. Your first name picks the first word and your last name picks the second, so you get the same Wu-Tang name every time you use the same spelling.
How does the Wu-Tang name generator work?
It turns each letter of your name into a number and uses that number to pick one word from two fixed word lists. Because the math is the same every time, the same name always lands on the same two words. Change one letter, such as Chris instead of Christopher, and you may get a different name.
Is there an official Wu-Tang name generator?
Wu-Tang Clan's online shop runs its own name generator, which asks for your name, your location and your email. This page is a separate, independent fan tool. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Wu-Tang Clan, and it only needs your name.
Did Childish Gambino get his name from a Wu-Tang name generator?
Yes. Donald Glover has said in interviews that he got the name Childish Gambino from an online Wu-Tang Clan name generator while he was in college. Different generators use different word lists, so this one gives his name a different result.
Why does my name always give the same result?
The generator does not pick at random. It calculates the alias from the letters of your name, so the same input always gives the same output. That way your Wu-Tang name is fixed, and your friends can confirm it.
Is the Wu-Tang name generator safe?
Yes. Your name is used only in your browser to calculate the alias, and it is not saved. There is no sign-up, no email and no app to install. If you share a link, the name you typed appears in that link, so only share it with people you want to see it.
